A week in the life of our un-schooling life
home made oestrogen-free chicken feed, thoughts on boys playing war games and how I support my two older boys in their entrepreneurship
Hello ! This publication is for paid subscribers though the first part is free for everyone to read. If you would like to upgrade to paid, you will receive weekly smallholding, renovating and unschooling updates as well as mid-forty musings, stories from the land and tales of herbal alchemy. You can read more in the about page. As I am asked so much how our lives look as un-schoolers I thought I’d share last week with time stamps. There is no such thing as a typical week for us. The beauty about the way we live is it is not rigid. We have to be very flexible as we really do go with the flow of the day. It’s more a rhythm than a routine and crucially it puts an emphasis on learning through real life and play.
Monday
The recent rain spells and cooler temperatures prompt me to think about the chickens and get the coop winter-ready. Jago is always up for a trip to our local farm supplies store where we stock up on feed, a new rat trap (the real downside to having chickens is accepting you will have rats!).
We couldn’t resist and bought this beauty at the same time….
